The tech came the week after and installed a new/second modem that daisy chained to the modem I already had with them and their Videotron router.Now I'm trying to figure out why on 120mbs I was getting 120mbs on 2.4ghz WiFi, but now on the 400mbs, it's capped at about 50mbs unless I hop onto the 5ghz band. That means if you want to skip an ad, for instance, you have to skip 5 minutes ahead, and then rewind back to the end of the commercial break. I don’t want to change Internet providers, but in a few years when Videotron gets rid of Illico and only Helix is available, I’ll have to.

There is an extremely annoying bug where when you fast-forward, even if you press “play” at the right time, the video actually resumes +/- 5 seconds off what you actually saw on screen when you hit the button. I called them to remind that they have already stolen 600$ or more from me since the deactivation of this feature without my consent. Not sure if it’s software/hardware, but it’s a pain.The interface looks modern, but it’s an absolute nightmare to navigate. So glad not to do business with them any longer. I tried to deal as much refund as I could (The maximum they gave me is 40% off from my 330$ bill) and decided to leave. It was always minimum 125$. Videotron really dropped the ball here, and even if I’ve been with them for years, I have to finally admit Bell has a better TV service now.

They’re trying to hard, and it’s unpractical.The fact that everything is in the cloud may seem neat, but it’s S-L-O-W. Don’t get fooled by the 400 Mbps connection speed — this thing lags like crazy when you use recordings/on-demand.Speaking of recordings: It’s the absolute WORST experience I’ve ever hard with a Videotron product. This means if you fast-forward ads, for instance, 90% of the time you’ll end up either skipping a few seconds of show, or end up enjoying the last ad from the commercial break.They completely crippled — if not destroyed — the skip buttons. A couple of months later, I renewd my contract and received a brand new Samsung S9. What blows my mind is, these are all NEW problems that previously didn’t exist with Illico. That kind of sucks for the people who (like me) have Videotron as their TV provider, but another company as their Internet provider.
Back in 2015, Videotron sold me a “Super Package deal” for mobile phone + Internet that costed 110$ (not great, not terrible, just okay).
