Gallatin Beach is a popular place to swim by the shore. The campgrounds offer a great way to experience the area providing quick access to Eagle Lake, the Marina, and the 5.2 mile paved bike and hiking trail, all while staying in the pines of the beautiful Lassen National Forest surrounded by local wildlife. They also do not have 110 volt power at the posts at the site so my adapter could not use the 110 volt side to give us a boost to the 30amp. They wanted to charge us after we had already prepaid. Im not sure if the large group that took over most of the park was a fluke that weekend or if they are always there, but they are of a very obvious mind set. Family friendly. 7/27/2014. Excellent service from the staff we encountered. We pulled in, put down the jacks and I proceded to hook up our utilities. The problem with the other site was (1) there was a power wire hanging low in the site and would actually be resting on our rig with the jacks down. That is when I found out that their map was wrong and the site was only 30 amp. It was very unsettling.
