NASA’s automated asteroid tracking system has detected four asteroids that are expected to fly past Earth on Friday. On April 29, an asteroid estimated to be between 1.1 and 2.5 miles wide will fly by Earth. To put that into perspective, the average distance between Earth and the moon is about 239,000 miles (385,000 kilometers).Asteroid 2012 HG2 is estimated to have 469 chances for potential impacts between 2052 and 2119, the earliest of which could happen on February 12, 2052. But it's not expected to collide with our planet, thankfully. NASA’s Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) has detected three asteroids that are expected to approach the planet tomorrow. NASA’s Mars rover Perseverance to leave Indian footprint while landing on.. "Potentially Hazardous Asteroids (PHAs) are currently defined based on parameters that measure the asteroid’s potential to make threatening close approaches to the Earth," the NASA said on its website.
DART, which has a launch window opening in July 2021, will visit a binary asteroid system where two asteroids orbit one another and aim to deflect a small asteroid.DART will crash into a moonlet (a small natural satellite) of near-Earth asteroid Didymos, that is comparable in size to an asteroid that could pose a threat. The European Space Agency's complementary Hera mission will precisely measure how it changed the velocity of the larger asteroid and study DART's impact crater on the moonlet.Tired of living in fear, some Latinos are buying guns to feel more safeAt least 150 hospitalized due to salmonella outbreak in 48 statesLarge asteroid heading toward Earth won’t hit us next month, NASA reassuresShow full articles without "Continue Reading" button for {0} hours.

But it's not expected to collide with our planet, thankfully. On July 13, 2020 KJ7 (96ft, half height of the leaning tower of Pisa) and 2009 OS5 (140ft, half the height of the Statue of Liberty) are charted to pass us at 2.8 and 4.2 million miles. The scientific interest in comets and asteroids is due largely to their status as the relatively unchanged remnant debris from the solar system formation process some 4.6 billion years ago.”Informing more about the nature of the asteroids, the agency said, “The giant outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune) formed from an agglomeration of billions of comets and the leftover bits and pieces from this formation process are the comets we see today. © NASA With a diameter of about 46 feet, there is no danger of 2012 HG2 hitting the ground as it is simply too small and would likely burn up in the atmosphere, providing some spectacular ‘fireworks’. That asteroid is estimated to be between two and a half and five and a half miles wide.In addition to tracking Near-Earth Objects that could pose a threat, NASA and other agencies currently have missions underway to study near-Earth asteroids and potentially mitigate the danger of a collision. NASA warns of another FIVE asteroids headed our way, after we MISSED one that passed closer than the MOON During its approach, the asteroid will be about 0.01551 astronomical units from the planet’s surface, which is equivalent to around 1.4 million miles away.Trailing behind 2020 FH is a much smaller asteroid known as 2020 FG is expected to approach Earth from a much closer distance compared to 2020 FH. These will be followed shortly afterwards by 2020 MQ (140ft) at a distance of four million miles. According to NASA, the humongous asteroid is bigger than the famous London Eye which is 443 feet high and will make its closest approach to Earth on July 24, reported Birmingham Live. Over this weekend, two asteroids – 2020 MU1 (120ft diameter or half the wingspan of a 747 jet) and 2020 ML (73ft diameter, roughly half the height of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris) – are expected to shoot past us at a distance of 4.4 million and 2.7 million miles respectively.
"It's the largest asteroid expected to zip by Earth within the next two months, but it's not the largest ever. That honor belongs to the asteroid 3122 Florence (1981 ET3), which flew by and luckily missed colliding with Earth on September 1, 2017. They track Near-Earth Objects that could collide with Earth. The asteroid was classified as a potentially hazardous object because it passes near Earth's orbit, but it's not currently on NASA's list of potential future Earth impact events.
